Vue.js

Application for better organizational management of the Popenguine Pilgrimage. We finished 3rd with a prototype developed with Vue.js.

The Challenge

The Sonatel Si Sen Gox Hackathon focused on creating technological solutions for community challenges in Senegal. Our team chose to address the organizational challenges of the Popenguine Pilgrimage.

Our Solution

We developed a mobile-first application that helps:

  • Register pilgrims in groups
  • Track pilgrimage logistics
  • Manage accommodation assignments
  • Coordinate transportation

Key Features

1. Group Registration

Created a system for registering pilgrims in groups with leader coordination.

2. Real-time Dashboard

Administrators could track registration progress and logistic status.

3. Mobile-First Design

The interface was designed primarily for mobile devices since most users would access via smartphones.

The Experience

Participating in this hackathon taught me:

  • Rapid prototyping under time constraints
  • Team collaboration in high-pressure situations
  • Designing for users with varying technical literacy
  • The impact technology can have on community events

Technologies Used

  • Frontend: Vue.js 3
  • Styling: Tailwind CSS
  • Backend and Backoffice: Laravel (prototype)

This competition reinforced my belief in technology's power to solve real community problems.
